Client Portal Platform
Part of the worlds-biggest-software-project initiative.
A secure, branded portal where service businesses share documents, track project status, communicate with clients, and collect payments -- replacing scattered email threads and shared drives with a single authenticated gateway.
Client Portal Platform gives agencies, consultancies, and professional service firms an open-source alternative to proprietary portal tools like SuiteDash, Copilot, and HoneyBook. It centralises file sharing, messaging, invoicing, and e-signatures behind a white-label interface deployable on a custom domain. The platform targets any service business that needs a controlled, permissioned space for client-facing activity without paying per-seat SaaS fees.
Why Client Portal Platform?
- Every incumbent is proprietary SaaS. SuiteDash, Copilot, HoneyBook, Onehub, FuseBase, and Clinked are all closed-source commercial products. There is no credible open-source client portal on the market today.
- Per-seat pricing punishes growth. Most competitors charge per client or per user, making costs unpredictable as a firm scales. SuiteDash is a notable exception with flat pricing, but it remains proprietary.
- Incumbent UX is inconsistent. SuiteDash's UI density overwhelms clients unfamiliar with project management tools; Onehub's interface feels dated; HoneyBook is narrowly focused on creative industries and unsuitable for consulting, legal, or financial services.
- Compliance is an afterthought. Regulated industries (healthcare, legal, financial services) need SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR readiness built in, not bolted on. Most portals treat compliance as an enterprise upsell.
- No AI capabilities in existing tools. None of the incumbents offer AI-generated status updates, intelligent notification routing, or document content analysis -- capabilities that meaningfully reduce manual reporting overhead.

AI-Native Advantage
The platform uses AI to reduce the manual reporting burden that plagues service businesses. AI-drafted project status updates are generated from task and milestone completion data, eliminating the weekly copy-paste summary email. Intelligent notification routing distinguishes which portal events genuinely require client attention from routine updates, reducing notification fatigue. Document content analysis surfaces key data points from uploaded contracts and reports during due diligence workflows, and client sentiment monitoring flags at-risk relationships by analysing portal messaging threads.
Tech Stack & Deployment
The platform is designed for self-hosted, cloud, and hybrid deployment. File storage uses encrypted-at-rest object storage with configurable backends. Payment processing integrates via Stripe. Authentication supports two-factor authentication with session logging. The e-signature implementation follows documented legal frameworks (eIDAS, ESIGN Act) using standard cryptographic signing rather than proprietary interaction patterns. A REST API enables programmatic portal and client management from external systems, and Zapier integration supports third-party workflow automation for CRM, accounting (QuickBooks, Xero), and scheduling tools.
Market Context
The Client Portal Software market is projected to grow at a CAGR of approximately 10.3% from 2026 to 2033. Incumbent pricing ranges from per-seat models (Copilot, Clinked) to flat-rate plans (SuiteDash), with enterprise-tier plans typically exceeding $100/month. Primary buyers are agencies, consultancies, freelancers, and professional service firms who need a branded client-facing gateway but lack the engineering resources to build one. SOC 2 Type II certification is the minimum trust signal expected by enterprise and regulated-industry buyers.
